Route Overview

The Ultimate Kilimanjaro Trekking Experience

The 10 Days Northern Circuit Route is Mount Kilimanjaro’s newest and longest official trekking itinerary. Beginning at Lemosho Gate on the western side of the mountain, the route ascends through lush rainforest up onto the magnificent Shira Plateau before branching north around Moir Hut, Buffalo Camp, and Third Cave toward School Hut.

By circumventing the quiet northern slopes facing Kenya, climbers enjoy wilderness solitude far removed from the heavily trafficked southern approaches like Machame or Marangu. The extended 10-day timeline allows body metabolism to naturally adapt to thinner air, making it the safest and most enjoyable trek for high-altitude success.

At Africantrust Safari, our climbs are led by licensed mountain guides with pulse-oximeter monitoring, high-altitude emergency safety protocols, fresh wholesome meals, and full mountain camp support.
